M. MARGARITA MURPHY, MD
Dr. Margarita Murphy is a bilingual physician, speaking fluently in English and Spanish. She began her medical education at the University of Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia, and finished at the University of South Florida, in Tampa. This was followed by general surgery specialty training at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, and a colon-rectal surgery fellowship at Beaumont Hospital, in Royal Oak, Michigan. She is Board Certified in General Surgery and Board Certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery. She is a member of the American College Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
BRENDAN B. MURPHY, M.D.
Dr. Brendan Murphy graduated from Rice University with a degree in Biochemistry, and attended medical school at the University of South Florida. Subsequently he completed general surgery training in Seattle, Washington, as chief resident, and went into practice in the Seattle area as a Board Certified General Surgeon. He then completed fellowship training in Colon and Rectal Surgery with specific training in Laparoscopic Surgery. His practice covers the full range of colon and rectal problems, with a particular interest in laparoscopic surgery. He is Board Certified in General Surgery and Board Certified in Colo-Rectal Surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
AUBREY BAUER, PA-C
Aubrey Bauer is a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) who graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelors of science in biology and a cognate in chemistry. She then attended the Medical University of South Carolina and graduated with a masters of physician assistant studies. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.
EMILY SHELLY, PA-C
Emily Shelley is a certified Physician Assistant who joined our practice in June 2016. She is a graduate of the College of Charleston and then the Medical University of South Carolina where she earned her masters of physician assistant studies. After practicing internal medicine in Washington, DC she and her family are happy to be back in the Lowcountry. Emily is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.
MICHELLE M ALEXANDER, CCS, CCS-P
As the practice grew, we needed an office manager to help manage our growth, and we were lucky to have Michelle join us in 2008. She comes to us with over 20 years of experience, both in managing a surgical practice, and as a certified coding specialist with credentials on both the hospital and professional side of the business.
